Organizational Strategic Planning

Organizational Strategic Planning is the process through which an organization’s leadership defines its most ideal future and then develops the goals, objectives, and systems required to make that future a reality. The outcome is an action-driven plan that directs effective, profitable, value-enhancing systems and daily behaviors aligned with your organization’s core values and vision.

Our Organizational Strategic Planning process is designed for dental associations, societies, academies, dental schools, group practices, and for-profit companies that want a plan they will truly implement—not one that sits on a shelf.

Person Looking At Board
  • Create a clear, energizing vision and plan aligned with your organization’s values and strengths, ensuring continuity even as leadership changes.

  • Increase stakeholder engagement, focusing on those whose involvement maximizes impact and advances your vision.

  • Develop a proactive fiscal plan to strengthen income streams, control costs, and grow operational reserves, typically adding at least 25% to EBITDA.

  • Refine team and leadership alignment, ensuring recruitment and development support your vision and the Applied Strategic Plan.

Why It Works

Strategic Planning works because it honors the whole person and the whole practice. Instead of forcing you into a rigid template or one-size-fits-all plan, it helps you uncover what you truly want—and then creates a structure to help you live it out.

It works because:

  • It starts with the heart. Before you set goals or make plans, you reconnect with your values, your purpose, and the deeper “why” behind your work and life.

  • It brings clarity to complexity. The process gently organizes what feels overwhelming, revealing patterns, priorities, and the next right steps.

  • It aligns your team. When everyone sees the same vision, communication improves, accountability strengthens, and momentum builds naturally.

  • It blends inspiration with action. Big dreams are transformed into focused, realistic steps that move you forward with confidence.

  • It creates long-term traction. Instead of quick fixes or motivational bursts, SP builds sustainable habits, systems, and decision-making tools that last.

  • It integrates life and work. Because the best plans aren’t just about production—they’re about fulfillment, relationships, and living with intention.

  • It fosters ownership. You and your team become active creators of the future, not passive reactors to circumstances.

  • It strengthens leadership. The process deepens self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and the ability to lead from vision rather than urgency.

Ultimately, it works because it helps you design your future from the inside out—anchored in purpose, guided by clarity, and supported by a plan that reflects who you are and who you’re becoming.

Personal Applied Strategic Planning (PASP)

Applied Strategic Planning is the process through which an organization’s guiding members envision its future and develop the systems, procedures, and operations needed to achieve that vision.

For over 30 years, this series has offered a proven framework to create an intentional life and meaningful work that leads to fulfillment, significance, and exceptional personal, professional, and financial success. It helps you craft a clear vision for your future, develop an actionable plan, engage your team, and gain both freedom and balance.

The process begins with an assessment of your current situation and priorities. From there, we help you envision your life and practice at their very best and then translate these non-linear visions into practical, actionable steps using structured, logical planning.

Lisa Alvarado will meet with you for an individual personal consultation and assessment approximately 30 to 60 days prior to Retreat I. The Applied Strategic Planning (ASP) process typically includes a series of three retreats for three to seven practices over a period of six to ten months. Depending on the size of the group, each retreat runs from 2.5 to 3 days in length, providing ample time for in-depth discussion, planning, and strategic development.
